Posterous Import Problem

  Hello, I am trying to import from Posterous. I have downloaded from Posterous and I have a .xml file but when I upload it I get the following error:
  ” Sorry, ther has been an error
  The file is not an xml file. Please see instructions for downloading and using the Posterous backup file.”

  I’m following the instructions and I’ve re-downloaded the file 3 times and it doesn’t work.
  Any ideas?

  You cannot upload a .zip file. It must be an xml file.

  Thanks but it’s not a zip file. It’s a .xml file. Its looks exactly as it is supposed to based on the instructions:
  wordpress_export_1.xml

  i am having problems with the same situation. i have the wordpress_export_1.html file from within the unzipped folder from the posterous export.

  i also tried to import into my wordpress site using wordpress importer tool. i get the following error for each blog post on posterous…

  Warning: checkdate() expects parameter 1 to be long, string given in /nfs/c01/h13/mnt/14254/domains/roxstyle.com/html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3859
  Failed to import Post “Name of Post”

  i added the posterous import plugin, and tried that and it just hangs.

  sarareichling, I have reset your importer. Please feel free to try again and let us know how it goes.

  Hey MacManx,
  I’m still not able to import from posterous. I know that I need to upgrade my operating system. Do you think that could be the problem?
