  I would like to know if it is possible and if it IS possible, how do i ncorporate posts from an old blog that date before the creation of my wordpress homepage?

  You can’t directly include posts, but if you can export them, you may be able to import them via Tools -> Import in your blog’s Dashboard.

  so, let’s say i have a blog post from March 2010. i couldn’t recreate that post in my Beerflections category with the same date of March 2010? I’m trying to keep the original timeline of my various postings as close to the original as possible.

  Yes, when you import, it will import with the original date.

  If you’re manually creating it, you can adjust the published date via the Publish box to the right.
