posting an image in your sidebar
-
Hi all,
I’ve been following the faq to insert an image into my sidebar but whenever I put the url into the text window the image still doesn’t show up on my sidebar. If I get anything at all I get the actual url…
What am I doing wrong here?

Here’s what I’m putting into the text box:
<img
src=”http://theskinnyonbuddhabelly.wordpress.com/files/2007/11/laughing_buddha_statue_buddha_gift_m.jpg”
alt=”laughing buddha”/>I’ve also tried just putting it in like so:
http://theskinnyonbuddhabelly.wordpress.com/files/2007/11/laughing_buddha_statue_buddha_gift_m.jpgand here’s the link to my blog:

Try this to center it in a text widget (remove centering if that’s not what you want)
<p align="center"><img src="http://theskinnyonbuddhabelly.files.wordpress.com/2007/11/laughing_buddha_statue_buddha_gift_m.jpg" border="0" style="float:center;margin:10px;" alt="Laughing Buddha"></a> -
I should have done this first, sorry, but I can see from trying it in a test blog you’ll probably need to reduce the size of the image, especially the width. Not a biggie.

The image http://radiokol.files.wordpress.com/2007/11/yellow-puffle-for-real.jpg is too wide for the post area. Images in the post area cannot be wider than those listed here in this FAQ: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/09/25/how-big-can-my-images-be/The “powered by box image is also too wide for the sidebar. Make it smaller.
