The mobile version was fine for me. It was probably a little bit harder to embed videos because that’s a lot of switching but i dont see why they have to mess with the site to make the mobile better.

If you want to post, you can do so from your own site’s Dashboard>Posts>New Post.
In otherwords – edit – where one STILL has to load pictures from point A to point B. Not nice, not nice at all. Tooo Time Consuming for someone who puts a lot of pictures in their posts like me. (And apparently, I’m not the only one.)
wow, what a horridly unprofessional response from the staff.
Shocking, isn’t it. When a company truly messes up a product, they should EXPECT frustrated and irate consumers. Instead of calming, we get people who feed the beast. I had one tell me my comment made ‘no sense’ forcing me – The Ultimate Bitch – to repeat what I said in short, easy to read sentences designed for the illiterate.
I let you guys work out the problem and change it and come back in 6 month time.
You are more patient than I am. I’m posting a redirect on my mine and leaving it.
Staff saying words like “we are so sorry” won’t bring about a reversion 99.9% of the time, so with kindness I suggest-
-finding another blog spot. Obviously the staff here are the same people who Effed up Yahoo!
Beep Beep Boop
most annoying change ever!

I’d love to get a final answer – is there no possible way for me to post pictures which are the normal size, the same size that I used to post? A.K.A. – are my blogging days over?
-
@countrygirl– once you’ve added the photos via the dashboard, just click on the image in your visual editor. A pencil icon and an “x” will appear. You can adjust the size of the image via the pencil.

This reminds me of the way it felt posting on WordPress years ago — when I found it tedious and lost interest. I came back to WordPress this year, dreading that style of interface, but then it surprised me! The new format was so simple and refreshing, I felt energized by it and started posting more prolifically. This morning, I ran into the new new — please, darling WordPress, rethink this rethink!
Thank you to everyone who has shared practical advice in this forum — you’re all so generous! I’m glad to know I can work through the Dashboard, just sorry we all had to meet this way :)

@ketchemandfleezem
What is the URL of the blog your refer to please? It doesn’t appear to be the one linked to your username?I don’t have any issues with resizing images. I create my posts here > Dashboard > Posts > Add New
I consult my detailed theme description page to locate the required image sizes for the theme. Then I optimize every image for the web and pre-size it to fit exactly where I want it to appear in my blog prior to uploading it. The result is:
I get the best image quality possible;
I don’t waste my free media storage space; and
I don’t waste any time on image troubleshooting.
If you would like to do that too then see this post of mine

Part of the problem is that people who are complaining that inserting pix via the proper dashboard doesn’t “work” have never done it before. It works fine, they’re just used to the way the New Post button works. When inserting via the dashboard you have MORE options than you used to. If you don’t select the options you want, though, WP.com guesses what to give you, so some of you are getting thumbnails inserted where you want full-size images. It’s a re-learning process, but it is not “broken.” It’s just more complicated.

@raincoaster
Agreed. People are creatures of habit who resist change. It’s ironic that those using Add New here https://wordpress.com/post/ aren’t getting what you said:Part of the problem is that people who are complaining that inserting pix via the proper dashboard doesn’t “work” have never done it before. It works fine
By analogy, I believe they think the Add New here https://wordpress.com/post/ is full meal deal when it comes to post creation. To me using that post creation option is like going to kindergarten and never leaving it.
-
timethief Yes that can be done but can you post an image to be seen in 30 seconds like were were able to do before?
-
It’s just more complicated.
Which is why it’s a stupid change. Making it more complicated doesn’t win you brownie points and quite frankly, it doesn’t make it ‘better’ – it just makes it complicated and it pisses the people who use the msot off. I hate to tell you people this, but most of us have a LIFE and better things to do than fiddle with something that’s more complicated. WHy should I spend precious time uploading something that take 22 steps when it used to do the same things just as well in 2? You are wasting my time! Where I work, time wasters get FIRED! At some point, we peons are going to say – this isn’t worth having. I’ve reached that point. And I”m not alone.
So don’t consider it a ‘complaint’ – consider it a wake up call. I ordered a computer back in the day with Windows XP. We clarified 3 times I order XP and they sent me Vista. It was returned to them in pieces and they got to start all over again, because I showed proof that I ordered XP and made it very clear Vista is a piece of crap. Same thing with Windows 8. Many of us do not need all these pings and whistles. Many of us don’t want them. They slow us down, they impede us. And we don’t like being talked down to. That won’t win you gold stars either.
I see me (and many others) deleting our blogs here if you do NOT get off your high horses and unfix what you broke. All the complicated things is simply not worth the other.
I mean, really people. I still have a livejournal and trust me – it works better than this.

To link your username to that blog see here http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2007/10/06/link-your-username-to-your-blog/To answer your question I’m in the know when it comes to exactly what dimensions my theme requires for images and my answer is yes. That being said I’m not into speed posting.
I have never ever been the kind of blogger, who slaps up cat picture, or a video, or a link, or a quote and then refers to that as blogging … lol :D.
My approach to creating a post is found here Writing a Blog Post
So I guess I’m a slow blogger.

Again, we are not here to assist you with your emotions around this change. We don’t care how it makes you feel. We don’t care what you think of it. We don’t care why WordPress made the change. We are only here to help you work around it and continue blogging.
If you want to vent to staff directly, the email is Support at WordPress dot Com.

This maybe goes without saying, (and actually probably has been said several times) but @timetheif and @raincoaster are incredibly knowledgeable long-term volunteers, not staff. There have been no staff comments in this particular thread. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about the style or tone volunteers use (or should use) to help each other, but the argument that they should be nicer because it’s their job doesn’t really hold water.

I am wondering who exactly you think are you addressing when typing your repetitive emotional outbursts into multiple threads.
Maybe you don’t know that this is a peer support forum where Staff and Volunteers work together cooperatively to provide technical (not emotional) WordPress.com support.

Thanks for your appreciation and understanding of the situation.Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about the style or tone volunteers use (or should use) to help each other,
Volunteers are members too and we also have the right to freedom of speech with regard to the style and tone of the responses we receive from other members.
In general I choose not to share my opinions of the style and tone of those who are into drama. It’s my experience that some bloggers are never happy with any changes and don’t comprehend that software is not frozen in time. What I have seen is that some are capable of freaking out andthen doing a flounce bingo right out the door, without any provocation. Whether or not that happens it suits me fine because the right to be remembered is cool thing. Threads here are instantly indexed by Google and are never deleted at this end. And, my memory rivals that of an elephant.
