No, you can’t. That’s been my problem and I figured I’d answer before the Dynamic Duo came in and insulted you for being new. :-( Apparently, we’re supposed to be grateful and excited for more complicated and time consuming.
Most times, when a website changes its interface, there is a popup ‘how to navigate what we effed up’ for everyone, but not here. Apparently, it’s a laugh for some people that some of us asked for it.
There are so many OTHER blog spaces out there and I’m looking. No one should have to put up with this kind of rudeness. I might even rev up my old Livejournal. Last time I was there, you could direct load pictures.

I’ve tagged this thread at least once for a Staff response, but none has been given and the tag removed.
None of us forum volunteers can solve this “problem” and this thread has gotten way too emotional and personal.
Since the 4 forum volunteers who have posted in this thread have mentioned that things here change all the time and have suggested another way of posting (through your Dashboard), which is perhaps more complicated for some, but that method is generally stable unless a new version of WordPress core is released.
So unless Staff post into this thread with new information about the New Dash posting area (I’ve tagged this yet again), I see no further reason to post here and shall refrain from doing so.

I originally tagged this thread for Staff. As Staff have already responded in other threads and as the links to their response have been shared in this thread, and as this thread went off the rails I removed the tag for Staff intervention. My reasoning is simple Staff have already said it all in other threads. Volunteers have faithfully responded providing the links to the resônses from Staff, and tagging this thread for anything aside from closure is not required. -

There has been a change to the post editor interface at https://wordpress.com/post/ and Staff are recommending that we bypass the New Dash in favor of posting directly on our sites at Dashboard > Posts > Add New. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/where-did-the-add-media-button-go?replies=2#post-1927520

I don’t know about this “more mobile friendly” because i’m on a tablet pc. Also, it seems strange to say we’ll look after mobile users but tough luck to anyone else!

Over time everyone thinks they can make things better. have seen this many times. they would have a very good product that worked well than someone thinks they have a better idea, sorta like going from xp to vista or win 7 to win 8 . maybe once they get pass this version to the next version things will be better again.
