Posting as Authors within a blog
-
I’m not sure about terminology here, so please excuse the confusion.
My friend and I want to post as separate users (eg. I am slaiwkate) on a blog (username: solongasitswords). We’ve set ourselves up as Administrators for this blog and have both successfully posted test posts under our own names on the main blog, so a post on solongasitswords came from the author “kate”.
Today, when I logged in as slaiwkate, the drop-down box at the top under “Blogs” has two blogs both called “so long as it’s words”, rather than one called that and one called “kate”. I can’t change that back, and now when I try to post to So Long as It’s Words it doesn’t say it’s from Kate, and when I post to slaiwkate, it posts to that blog. I can’t post as an author (Kate) to the main blog (So Long as It’s Words) like I could two days ago.
I’ve tried removing the slaiwkate account from So Long as It’s Words and re-adding it as an administrator and that hasn’t helped.
I’d appreciate any help you can give me! I’m sure I’ve missed something obvious.
Kate
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Update:
My friend’s drop-down box under “Blogs” in the topbar shows her account as separate from So Long as It’s Words, but she can’t post to it as herself, either, it just posts as an authorless post from So Long as It’s Words.
She, too, was able to do it a couple of days ago.

The blog at http://solongasitswords.wordpress.com is using the Coraline theme, which doesn’t display the author name on the post.
Is it possible you’ve recently changed from another theme?
-
We did change the theme – we both thought we’d done the test posts with this theme, but apparently not!
Thanks for your help.
Any idea how to get my drop-down menu to distinguish between my account and the main one, rather than having both options look the same?

If you like Coraline, then definitely continue listing your names as separate categories. You might also consider adding one of the Author Widgets to the sidebar.
If you recently changed your blog from “So Long As It’s Words” to “Kate” it might take a short time for the admin bar cache to empty out and the new blog name to show up there. You could try logging out of WordPress.com, clearing your browser’s cache and cookies and then logging back in again. If it doesn’t, feel free to post here again.
