posting blog posts onto different sections of the menu

    I’m trying to post my blog posts onto different sections of my menu but it’s not working. (my blog is for my college work and I need to log every class I do). for example, if I make a blog post about an acting class I do, I want it to go into the acting page section on the menu but it goes into every section and I am trying to categorise my blog by my different classes and I don’t know how to fix this issue.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    Here’s how you can set up category pages on your blog :

    1. You can assign a category to a post(e.g acting) and publish it.


    Organize Posts with Categories

    2. Add this category to your custom menu (this is your category page): Add categories to menu from categories dropdown


    Menus

    All the posts which are assigned the category “acting” will display on this category page in the menu.
    Similarly, you can add other categories to the menu.

    you see, that’s what I did when I tried to fix it myself but it still didn’t work. Any other ways to try and fix it?

    Setting up category pages and including them in your menu as described above should accomplish most of your goal. it should create your individual pages linked via the menu. WordPress IS set up for all of your posts to automatically go to the “blog” page. However, you can remove that page from your menu which should eliminate that part of the issue.

    Your site is set as private and volunteers cannot see it, so I am tagging your question for “modlook” so a staffer can look at your site to see why this did not work for you.

    Hi there,

    For the solution @yashitamittal11 suggested to work you first need to remove the custom links you have added to your main menu. Then create the categories, add them to your main menu and finally attach posts to the appropriate categories.
