posting comments

I just want to write a comment to a blog I read. I regestered, I signed in and then I get directed to the wordPress page. How do I make a comment on the blog I’m reading?
-
Not sure what the issue here is. When you sign into an account without a blog, you get dropped to the main wp.com page. It should just be a matter of going back to the blog you were at. Looking in your browser’s history would probably help.
-
I get to the end of the existing comments, it says – Leave a Reply,- then under that it says, – you must be signed to leave a comment,- so I sign in and get directed to -Welcome to Word Press.com, Your Stuff –
I go back to the blog, and the same cycle repeats. What should I click onto leave a comment?
I’m not inexperienced with blogging or commenting.
ButI have no idea how to leave a comment on the blog.
-
Try reloading the page that you want to leave the comment on. Sounds like you may be looking at a cached copy of the page. It’s CTRL-F5 on a PC.

I just tried refreshing and it gave me a blank page with – invalid entry – at the top.
I’m guessing it’s a problem with the blog. Now when I click on the -comments tab – it sends me to a blank page that says -invalid entry – at the top.
Maybe he’s working on the blog or has the comments turned off?
Check it out – http://38pitches.com/ –
Thanks for the help.

This is my first attempt to comment on a Word Press blog.
I still get a blank page with – invalid key – when trying to read the latest post.
But I visited a previous post and saw how a commnet should be left. There is a comments box into which you type your comment.
That box was /is missing in the entry I want to comment on.
When I started there were 16 comments and now there are 103, so maybe the blog is too busy to handle all the commenters.
Still, I wonder why, when I click on – continue reading – or – comments – on the latest entry it sends me to an – invalid entry – page.
-
I understand that. I’m not getting the invalid entry issue that you are. Again, what browser and browser version are you using please?
The blog is not too busy. This is a shared environment where it’s just one set of software files running all of the blogs and, if things were too busy, no one would be able to leave a comment period.

As far as I can tell I’m using IE 6. I could not find the exact version by checking – properties – or using – help -. Is there a way to verify the exact version?
I could leave a comment on the 2nd entry if I wanted, but the first enty still gives me the invalid entry page which you cannot exit even use the back arrow, but must exit the page and reopen the blog.
when I click on your highlighted – comment- in your previous response it also gives me – invalid entry -.

@drmike
FWIW I clicked on this url http://38pitches.com/ and left a test comment on the first post. It appeared without any difficulty. I’m using a firefox 2.0.0.3 browser. -
Thanks for trying. The problem persists, but I’m out of time and patience so I’m giving up.
-
Well, I came back and had time to download Firefox and I was able to post my comment, finally.
But what a hassle.
Consider this problem resolved, and thank you for your help.

I am having the exact same issue. I’ve tried the Ctrl F5 deal and that didn’t work. I am on IE6.0.2900.2180…..

@sonofapitcherman
You’re welcome.
Firefox is one hot browser for sure and IE6 (the most used one on the internet) is IMHO a dog. Regarding how to find out which version of a browser you have the easiest way is to click this link.
Happy blogging. :) -
@surfdogg
You can try this and see if it works for you.
The Cookie Dance
step 1. log out
step 2. clear your browser cookie
step 3. clear your browser cache/temporary internet files
step 4. close your browser
step 5. go back and testThe bad news is that IE6 is a problematic browser that does not always play well with wordpress. On the other hand IE7 and Firefox 2 do work well with wordpress. If you would like to you can upgrade to IE7 free of charge. Here’s the download link http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx
Alternatively, you can download Firefox 2.0.0.9 free of charge using this free download link http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
