Many of my comments are not being posted. This applies on blogs where these kinds of comments were previously posted. Has there been some kind of general blocking activity for all or nearly all of my posts? and if so how can I remove it?

Your username is linked to a deleted wpordpress.com site.
We have no idea exactly which comments on which posts and on which blog(s) you are referring to. All bloggers can choose to approve comments selectively and most do just that.
Do you see a message saying the comments are in moderation?
If that is not the case, perhaps they are not being deleted but are in the spam filter.

It could be that the name change has confused the owners of these blogs and caused them to delay approval of your comments.
