posting comments too quickly

  I use my blog to get feedback after teaching library instruction classes, so many students are trying to post comments at the same time. The students often get error messages that they are posting comments too quickly, so they have to use the back button, wait a few minutes, and try again. Is there any way to change the settings in wordpress so that this doesn’t happen? When I used blogger, there was no problem with students adding comments simultaneously.

  Should be about 30 seconds just for reference. Having them try multiple times quickly is probably setting it off for them worse so please tell them it’s important to wait the 30 seconds and not keep trying. It’s a setting made sitewide so it’s not something that can be changed.

  Since blogger seems to have no issue with spam, that’s probably why they don’t have the setting. (Being honest here. Reported a splog yesterday that was spammed here in the forums and it’s still up.)

  By the way, not that I’m doubting you. I made this suggestion myself eons ago:

  I have a feeling that they’re trying to make a comment, hitting the error, hitting the back space key and trying to comment right away. We were all teenagers once. ;) Suggest that they count to 30.
