Posting GIMP animations

How do I add an animation to a page. I started with a selection called text but that allowed me to post a picture just not an animation. Would I have had more luck selecting: New post > Video ?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you mean animated GIF or PNG then I am pretty sure that I read somewhere that these do work on WordPress.com but only if they are the exact same size as displayed. I have not tested this myself however.

If WordPress resizes the image the software used does not support animation and you just get the ststic first frame

It works as is or as you specified?

Thanks for the input by the way.
Where does the site show you how to resize and why you should need to.

GIMP has to convert images into GIFs when opened as “layers” by Exporting them. You then choose the way the individual images are displayed and the time giver for each one to show.

I think there is also a way of adjusting the sizes there too.

Then you add a, or change the title and the folder in which it is saved and close the original layers (with or without saving them.)

I simply took the animated gif from Winipedia and posted it. As long as i specified the original size when I put the image in the post it rotates. Any other size and it doesn’t
