posting html source code problem

  I am trying to post HTML source code as example snippets, but WordPress keeps changing the angle brackets to their escaped characters. Like so:

  [code language='html']
  <div><h1>Help!</h1></div>
  [/code]

  Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
