posting in archives

I’m trying to figure out how can I place an old post in archives and it won’t show up on the home page
thanks for help -
You don’t place posts in the archives – they go there automatically.
About the only thing you can do is reduce the number of posts on your front page (in your dashboard, go to settings>reading Blog pages show at most___ posts)

And you asked this a week ago. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/posting-in-archives?replies=5
You can get back to a list of your forum questions by clicking on the word “member” under your username, or by clicking on your username at the top of the forum page next to “Welcome, yourusernamehere!”

I now have more than one category – how do I get the category titles to list on the page (like recent posts do)? The other category (called November 08) is under the heading ‘archive’ but I cannot remember how I got it there. Can you not have more than one category listed under the heading ‘archive’? that seems odd. So I don’t know what I’m missing. Thanks.

Please don’t hijack threads by adding unrelated topics. It makes things very difficult to find in future.
For now: Archive isn’t a category. Archives will show up for every month you’ve posted. Use the Category widget to show the categories. That’s your “I’m Organized” widget.
