Posting in Menus
-
How do I post my posts into specific menu’s? For example, if I have a menu called ‘Breakfasts’, how do I get my post to appear in this menu and not just on the home page? I’ve tried adding pages to the menu’s, and adding categories, and then selecting a certain category in a post but nothing works!! I want to be able to post a dinner recipe in the ‘Dinner’ menu, and then a smoothie recipe in the ‘smoothie’ menu etc.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No problem! You can add the post itself to your menu as a link, rather than as a page or a category. Just paste the url of your post into the link field, title, it, and add it to the menu where you want it to appear.

@lettergrade:
Adventuresofgingers isn’t asking about individual posts, but even if she did, you don’t need custom links for that: in Appearance > Menus you can select posts as well as pages, categories etc.@adventuresofgingers:
You don’t use pages, you use post categories. See these posts of mine:

Ahh, neat. Thanks for pointing out the Posts option, @justpi. I had never seen that before, but I just found what you were talking about here, in Advanced Menu Settings: Screen Options. That saves a step nicely.
@adventuresofgingers, I thought you were looking to add individual posts to specific menus, but @justpi’s suggestion for categories is probably a good fit for you.
