posting in S'qaw Karen

I would like to be able to do some posts in an unusual language, S’qaw Karen (KSW). It isn’t on the drop down list of language choices. Does that mean I can’t post anything in S’qaw Karen?

Hi there, the fact that you are not able to see that language in the dropdown list of languages means that there is no translations of the WordPress.com interface into that language yet. If you’d like, you can read about how WordPress.com translation works and even volunteer to be a validator for your language by creating a request on the Translations forum.

Your language uses a Burmese script, correct? You could just try and start creating content in your language and see if they display correctly (normally they should, however there might be some changes going on regarding how Burmese scripts are currently supported). If you find any issues when posting in KSW, please let us know and we’ll make sure to look into this.

We don’t use exactly the Burmese script but close and many characters are shared. I’ve tried just posting in Karen and it comes out gibberish. Is there something I need to do first? I tried to figure out the translation system but couldn’t understand what to do to start a new language. I know I’m not very sophisticated here so can you help with both?

  • Do you see any difference if you post in the Visual Editor vs. the HTML Editor?
