  Hello
  Im a graphic design student and i want to use my blog as a research database for all my research. Is it ok to post other peoples designs as long as i quote where i got it from who its by. I just thought it would be a handy way to store all my research information on other designers.

  If they are copyrighted then you should be asking the originator or copyright holder.

  There have been a few discussions recently about copyright. Do a search for “copyright” and have a read of the threads. There should be some useful information for you.

  There are also some “fair use” regulations and since this is for research it sounds like it would fall under that category. To be safe, you can always post thumbnails instead of full-sized pictures. There’s a particular size that’s considered OK as it doesn’t give enough fine detail for things to be reproducable, but I forget what it is. Definitely less than 200 pixels in any direction, though.
