posting into a category

    I have tried to post to a new category and it keeps going into Portfolio. So I made the new category a sub-category to Portfolio to see if that would help and it did not. I cannot get my post to go into Diane’s Diaries (which is my blog) But the list on the left says Site, Blog Posts, Testimonials. All posts go to Blog Posts and all of those go into Portfolio. Not sure how to change that (I did make ONE post to the Diane’s Diaries category but it will not let me add to that. Under Customize it shows that new category, but does not seem to recognize it when I make a post.
