Posting Issues with WordPress and two different WordPress.com Blogsites
-
Over a year ago (May 2020), I created a WordPress Blogsite titled ‘Mabuhay US Veterans’ (https://mabuhayusveterans.wordpress.com/), which has become quite successful for American Veterans Retiring to the Philippines. So, this past August 2021, I decided to create another WordPress Blogsite titled ‘Mabuhay Expats’ (https://mabuhayexpats.wordpress.com/). Whenever I take a post that I wrote on Mabuhay US Veterans (which I have saved as a Word Document on my PC) and go to post it on Mabuhay Expats, I noticed after it has posted to Mabuhay Expats, that it refers to Mabuhay US Veterans. just under the title and to the left of the date and, as you may surmise, this is driving me nuts. Is there some sort of resolution to this problem?
Thanking you all ahead of time for your responses.

Hi there!
Are you referring to your author name showing here? https://d.pr/i/Uxydmo
If so, that’s because you have your username
mabuhayusveteransset as your display name for posts on your WordPress.com websites. To change it to something else you need to change your “display name” on your user account page here:
That will change your author display name on all your websites, so make sure to make it one that isn’t specific to one site over the other.
I hope that clarifies things!

Hello Csonnek!
Thanks for your response!
Yes, I am referring to the username meaning “mabuhayusveterans”, which was my understanding for only the Mabuhay US Veterans Blogsite. So, now you are telling me, that it’s for both websites.
If I change the display name, will any other changes occur to the actual names of each blogsite?
Lastly, when Veterans and Expats visit either of the two blogsites, do they physically see the “Author Display Name”, as I have always wondered about that too?
Thanking you ahead of time.
Respectfully,

Hi there!
Yes, I am referring to the username meaning “mabuhayusveterans”, which was my understanding for only the Mabuhay US Veterans Blogsite. So, now you are telling me, that it’s for both websites.
Yes, that’s correct. The Public display name that you set on https://wordpress.com/me will show up on all sites you own and publish posts on. Since there’s only one account on all those sites, it’ll show the same name across all of them.
If I change the display name, will any other changes occur to the actual names of each blogsite?
Not really. But, as suggested above, you’d want to use a name that’s not specific to either site. As the name will be shown on both sites, it might help to choose a name that your audience will recognize on both sites separately.
Lastly, when Veterans and Expats visit either of the two blogsites, do they physically see the “Author Display Name”, as I have always wondered about that too?
I assume you’re referring to “Public display name,” and yes, they will see it on your blog posts. If you open a blog post on either of your blogs, you’ll see that the first item below the post title is your Public display name, which right now is the same as your username. That’s what this screenshot shows: https://d.pr/i/Uxydmo
After you update the Public display name to something else, it’ll show up in the same area.
The Public display name can be changed as often as you’d like, so feel free to try it out and see how it goes.

Hello Aisajib!
Thanks for you response.
I went ahead as you suggested, changing what it was to something that could be used on both of my sites and, just verified it with one of my recent posts, which showed that it took effect.
So, I appreciate the excellent feedback!
Thanking you ahead of time.
