posting large images

  I am new to blogging or creating a web page. I want to post images that are so large in file size that I would have to have an image as a link to a page with the full image on a new page. I need to do this so that the detail of the image can be seen. The images are graphs/charts with type that needs to read fairly clearly. Is this possible with the wordpress software?
