Posting Links But Don't Want To Make Money From Them
-
Hello @SupportTeam,
I was wondering if it’s possible to do occasional posts with links to stores I shop at, clothing, cosmetics, etc., but I don’t want to profit from it. I simply want to share where I purchased an article of clothing or lipstick that my readers might like as well.
Is there a legal way to do that? Or am I just wishful thinking?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.– Dulcinea

Hi there,
Yes you can post links to shops that you like on your blog, as long as the main aim of your blog is to create original content – and that would include sharing your experiences about certain products you’ve bought. This link has a little more information on what is and isn’t allowed in terms of advertising on WordPress.com sites: https://en.support.wordpress.com/monetize-your-site/#advertising
Hope this helps.

Hi there,
Linking to items on shops are exactly the same as linking to any other website, and you don’t automatically make money from those links. We have no problem at all with you linking to other sites that are relevant to what you’re posting about.
To make money from a link you need a special type of link called an affiliate link, and you’ll only be able to use those if you signed up for the affiliate program at a particular store. We don’t mind those either, as long as the main goal of your site isn’t just to drive traffic to affiliate sites.
