Posting my blog in the Daily Prompt

Add topic to favorites
I want to post my blog with the Daily Prompt. But when I Publish it, it does not appear on the list of bloggers. What steps should I follow

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, seeker57. Comments are always closed on Daily Prompts, as we want bloggers to post on their own blogs rather than leave comments on The Daily Post.

If you include a link to the prompt post in your submission, your blog will show up on the list of pingbacks on The Daily Post so others can find you.

Michelle, twice this week my post has not appeared in the list of pingbacks. I don’t know what is happening. I’ve cleared the cookies and browser history for both of the computers I use. I have tried many different things and even though my post does link back to the DP page if clicked, my post is still not on the list. Please help me.

Hi thecheekydiva, I checked on the pingbacks issue and confirmed that two of your posts this past week did not trigger pingbacks. I’ve just opened a support ticket for you so that I can troubleshoot this further.

For anyone else who happens to read this thread and have the same problem of missing pingbacks, please go ahead and post to this thread with the details, including:

* the post on your own blog where you made a link
* the post on another blog that you linked to

Note also some common reasons for pingbacks not to happen include:

* the blog is set to private or to block search engines
* the pingbacks/trackbacks option is disabled for the blog or for the individual post

I have SUCH a huge problem with the pingbacks. None of my posts are ending up on the Daily Post.

I responded to this daily prompt: https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2012/12/17/daily-prompt-forever-young/

And this was the post: http://allthosesmallthings.wordpress.com/2012/12/17/playing-hide-and-seek-with-death-not-my-style/

I entered the link in the trackbacks section, AND entered two links in the post but nothing has worked at all. My posts aren’t showing up anymore. Please help.

Hey, I checked on this and found that the pingback fails when you link to the secure version of the URL like this:

https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2012/12/17/daily-prompt-forever-young/

Instead of this:

http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2012/12/17/daily-prompt-forever-young/

I’m not quite sure why it makes a difference, or why you’re ending up on the secure version of the URL at all. I’ll report it to the team. Meanwhile, make sure to use the link starting with http instead of https and your pingbacks should work :-)
