Posting of a certain author
-
If I have multiple authors on my blog is there a way to show only posts of a certain author like clicking on one category? Just in case someone wants to read only articles of one author.

Some themes do display individual authors, so you could think about changing your theme to one which does. Engtech mentions them in his reviews.
http://internetducttape.com/tools/wordpress/wordpress-theme-reviews/Another way is to assign a category to the names of each your authors under a parent category called Authors or something like that. Then they can assign their category name to their posts and clicking it in the sidebar will only show their posts, no-one else’s.

regardless of theme in use, archives ‘by the author’ are always available at the following URL pattern:
YOURBLAG.wordpress.com/author/AUTHORNAME
like for instance: http://cjwriter.com/author/cjwriter

Thanks Options. I didn’t know that! You learn something new every day. :)
Here’s another idea then; copy the authorname urls and link to them in a text widget called Authors. That should be an easy way to do it; no worrying about creating new categories and making sure you use the right one in your post.

at your service ;-)
yep, that’s obvious but neat idea.
that’s exactly how those archives can be presented to the visitors; along with properly sized avatar image *linking* to an author profile at the http://wordpress.com/profile/cjwriter/ for instance (just edit it appropriately).
although, there’s one issue with that profile said: Cats/Tags displayed there don’t link to your blog, they do into Global Tags instead. he-he ;-)
