Posting on A different page
-
Is there a way to choose where my post appear? They automatically appear on the front page but I want to know if there is a way to get them to appear on a different page.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Pages are static and sit outside of the blog structure and you cannot put posts on “pages.” All posts will show on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page. See this support document on the differences between pages and posts.
At wordpress.com, you organize posts by categorizing them and then you can either put the categories widget into the sidebar, or you can create a custom menu and put the categories into the custom menu.
If you do not want all the posts to show on the main page, then you can create a static front page for your site. If you wish, you can also create a “blog” page, but you do not have to if you do not want to.

I’m just trying to figure out the best way to organize my posts/pages since there is no way to tag pages but you can with posts.
My goal is to have a large number of static pages that are easy to search through. Though at the moment I can’t figure out how to do that yet.

Posts will be posted on front page because it’s a blog, you can organize your posts with categories. Good luck

My problem is similar to Norcalbuzz’s; and the answers he has received leads me to believe that I will need a regular website – as opposed to a blog – to enable me to do what I need.
I am a Child and Family advocate, and need to provide “foster care” related news articles for residents of individual states. Therefore, this is what I need.
One page:
-) An introduction to, and explanation of, the blog
-) Some federal statistics
-) A call to action
-) Other tutorial-type documentation that I might want to add in the future
The somewhat static information on these pages might need to be MINIMALLY updated or added to from time to time.Another page:
-) Alabama – contact information on Alabama’s relevant government officials
-) fostercare stats relevant to Alabama
-) Frequently updated with news POSTS relative to foster care in AlbamaAnother page:
-) Arkansas – contact information on Arkansas relevant government officials
-) fostercare stats relevant to Arkansas
-) Frequently updated with news POSTS relevant to foster care in ArkansasAnother page:
(same as above for each of the next 48 states)(Posts and topics to be archived by state – if that can be done)
Can I use a WP blog layout, or do I need to go to a fullscale website layout with sub-pages?

Staff have provided help for those who want to structure their blog like a website. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/
What’s critical is:
(1) a clear comprehension of the differences between pages and posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
(2) a clear comprehension of the fact that there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page. But we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page. We organize our posts by assigning Categories to them. When we publish a post it automatically appears on the running page for posts and also on the Categories pages and Archives pages. Note: There must be one published post in each Category in order for there to be anything to display.A custom menu allows you to display Categories with drop-downs to sub-categories in tabs along the horizontal navigation where normally only Pages tabs are displayed. If you wish you can also include Pages with drop-downs to sub-pages, Tag Pages and Posts, and/or custom links in your custom menu as well. You are in charge of what appears in a custom menu. You choose the order in which to display any and/or all the foregoing in your custom menu. You choose which to display and which to hide.

Thank you for your rapid response, timethief, and for leading me to that specific tutorial.
My problem right now is that while I was clear on the first concept, my adult adhd is not yet allowing me to envision the second. However, I know that if I have a few more cups of coffee (seriously), and create a good visual (flow-chart, etc.) – I’ll get it.
Thank you again for pointing me in the right direction.
P.S. NORCALLBUZ – I think the tutorial that timethief provided will answer your questions, too. :)

Back to the initial question.
Actually it is very easy to achieve that. Just check out this article http://www.freshak.com/wordpress/2012/02/06/posting-blogs-on-different-pages-on-wordpress/ it is a very simple step-by-step tutorial.Hope it helps.

Actually it doesn’t. That doesn’t apply to WordPress.com blogs at all. It applies to WordPress.ORG blogs.
