Posting on different pages.
-
Hello,
So currently I have a home page and thats where all my posts go. On my home page I plan to post news articles on it. I want to be able to create another page where I can also post so people looking for non-news articles can easily find them without having to scroll through one place where everything is posted.
If this isn’t possible here is another idea. Say I have a bunch of posts with a ‘News’ Tag and another bunch of posts with a ‘Downloads’ Tag. Could I create a page so when you click on it it generates a search result with whatever tag I want (in order of newest first)?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It is not possible to post to more than one page.
You can use Categories to organize your blog into “News” and “Downloads.” Your readers can choose which category they like to read and your posts in that category will come up in order of newest first.
Categories and tags function the same way in terms of WordPress Global tags, but categories can be hierarchical: main categories and sub-categories. The category widget has more customization than the tag-cloud widget.

Hello. Really weak WP skills. I’m doing a lot of reading, mostly forums, to increase my skills.
First, I didn’t know that it’s not possible to post to more than one page, so this might be a moot question. My site contains numerous Posts by me an comments on them by others. I’m the only one who posts there. Now, what I want to do is have a posting page for Movie Reviews which allows any registered user to POST (at the author level I know – not a problem) and publish a review but for that to be the ONLY thing they can post.
I have stripped down my categories to two for the sake of simplicity — Other and Movies — and have made the default posting category movies so all user posts will go into that category.
Where I’m kind of stuck is, since, by your comment, we can only post to one page, does that mean that ALL posts, the ones I write and the users’ movie reviews go to one place? I know I can use the categories widget to switch between views, Other and Movies, but I can’t like direct their reviews to another page and have mine displayed separately on the Home Page?
If I CAN direct these user posts to a separate place and misread your comments, how would I do that? AND, is there a way to absolutely sure they can only post movie category material.
Hope this makes sense. As I said, I’m just wading into WP.
Thanks – Mike

We cannot help without the URL of the blog, starting with http. The answer depends on the blog.
