posting one post on blog’s home page

ok, so i’ve had to deal with this reverse-chronology thing with a blog that i made a year ago. it’s a blog meant to tell a story from beginning to end over a 2 month frame. there are lots of posts, but the problem is that when you go to the blog’s page, the first post that shows up is the last post (end of the story).

so i’ve posed a few solutions to this, all of which do not work:

-change all posts to pages and order them in the order i want. i do not like this idea, however, because i cannot save the date-tag that distinguishes all the posts from one another.

-making the first post (the beginning of the story) sticky so it’s the first one people see. yes, i have accomplished this, but it becomes confusing once you read the first post as right below it is the last post.

so, what i need to solve this problem is a way that i could post just ONE post onto the main url of the sight and people can navigate from there…

    basically

    this –> http://tylerberlintrip08.wordpress.com/2008/05/25/intro-to-trip/

…as my main url instead of

    this –> http://tylerberlintrip08.wordpress.com/

the reason for that is because on the first url, one can click at the bottom to go to the next post and that is somewhat chronological in nature

    thanks for your help
