when I follow the steps as laid out the image is HUGE and I can’t change it. Isn’t there an easie way to do this?

There is an easier way. It starts out with pre-sizing and optimizing your images prior to uploading them. There are also guidelines for how large an image can be inserted into the blogging space on your particular theme.

The second link lists the links to free image resizing programs that can be obtained from the net. If you have a windows OS then you can simply upload any image on your own computer into msPaint and size it there. Then you can upload it into your blog.
