posting pics from MacBook photos app

struggling to post pics from my phots app. Apple suggested there might be a WordPress app I can use then add to extensions. anyone know about this? many thanks

Hi there,
We have no integration with the Photos app on Mac, and it’s not possible to share a picture from there directly to WordPress.com.
To add a photo from that app to WordPress.com you’ll need to drag-and-drop it into the editor from the Finder folder containing that image, or by using the Add Media button in the editor.

Thanks for the info. I will try dragging and dropping. I cant use the editor as it says that the photos are the wrong format if they are from the photos app.

Yes. The Photos app converts photos into the new HEIF/HEIC format (file extension .heic), which at this point only works on Apple devices and which cannot be uploaded to the media library at this time.
If the original JPEG version of the file was removed from your computer when you imported it into Photos, or you took the images on an iPhone so it’s already in the HEIF format, you’ll need to export it from Photos as a JPEG as explained here:
