posting scanned images into the post

  I am trying to copy a document that has scanned pictures, drawings in . These do not get copied along with the text. when I copy the drawing, old photo into a new .doc file and move that to the add media screen it just shows the name of the doc not the drawing. Can anyone help me. I am just doing a very simple blog – a diary that my father wrote during WW2 which contains drawings and old photos that I scanned into the document. I don’t know how to get the drawings into the blog

  Hi,

  You need to upload the photos via Add Media as image files, not as .doc file.

  According to http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/ , these are the accepted image file types:

  You can upload the following image types to a post or page on your WordPress.com blog:

  .jpg/.jpeg
  .gif
  .png

  Thank you so much. I have now looked up how to convert from doc to Jpeg and have managed to post. Very grateful luddite!
