Posting source code
-
Whenever I post source code using the
[sourcecode]feature, my code turns out to have various HTML entities like<or>(but nothing else). At first I thought it was because WordPress was automatically encoding my “<“s and “>”s, but when I tried encoding them myself beforehand, my code still had the HTML entities. Why is that? -
Are you using the WYSIWYG editor? Try turning that off and then posting your code. You can turn off the “visual rich editor” under your global profile.
-
Never mind that problem, my current problem is that I can’t even save any posts that contain source code. (I’m very pissed off but uh…) No, I’m not using the WYSIWYG editor.
-
Oh, and it doesn’t even give any error message when I can’t save. It just ignores my post. Like I didn’t do anything.
-
Another weird bug: I deleted a draft, and it doesn’t appear in my posts list. However, I can still access it by modifying the “post” parameter in the URL. wtf?
-
Wow, bad day, huh?
First of all, you have a wordpress.com blog, right? Please give us a link to it.
To find the draft:
Go to Dashboard->Manage->Posts at the top of the list of posts, you should see a dropdown box for “Status”. Choose drafts, then click “Filter”For the other problems:
These may require staff to do a backend fix, but first, tell us what browser, browser version, and OS you’re using, please. Certain browsers don’t play well with wordpress.com (Safari & Opera come to mind). Also, before you save or publish a post, try raincoaster’s work-around here:

OK. Can you point out somewhere where the code is not displaying properly? I’m not much of a coder, so nothing leaps out when looking through all the stuff you have there.
Did you find your draft?
-
I didn’t actually care about my draft… I meant when I deleted it I could still find it. And also, the problem seems to be fixed… weird…
