Posting Source Code Issue
-
Hello,
I dont know if it is an issue or not but here what happens:
Source code works fine, but when i click in the button “older posts” the loaded posts (like infinite scroll) don’t show the source code correctly, only show the text inside a gray panel.
How to show the source code proper in the older posts?
thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
I was able to recreate this and I’ve asked our developers to take a look. I’ll let you know when I hear back.
Let me know if I can help with anything else in the meantime!

Nothing yet? It is a hard bug to fix, right.
Javascript cannot render the page with the infinity scroll and it was not foreseen by your developers.
I would like to known if at least there is a way to disable the infinity scroll to reload the pages for Source Code feature works proper again.
i didn’t found no setting to do this.

Hi,
You can disable the infinity scroll by following the instructions here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/infinite-scroll/#disabling-infinite-scrollHope that helps!

hi @honeysilvas
I tried but don’t have this option anymore, there’s no Infinite Scroll checkbox in the menu Setting ->Reading.
there is only the message:
“We moved this to the version-to-click scrolling for you since you have widgets in the footer under Appearance → Widgets, or your theme click-to-roll as the default behavior.”
Also I have a footer widget that the support page said that it is another way to disable the infinity scroll, i tried with and without footer widgets but the infinity scroll still works making source code feature sucks.
I think wordpress need change this old PHP to another modern language that have best Ajax integration for dynamic features that they try to implement.

Hi there!
Sorry for the delay. You do have Infinite Scroll disabled, however as a developer was explaining to me, the syntax highlighter doesn’t get triggered when the next page of posts is loaded whether you’re using Infinite Scroll or not.
There’s a developer who’s working on overhauling the highlighter, which will fix this issue. I’ll let you know as soon as I have an update for you.

hello, nothing yet ?
I understand what you said and that this issue is hard to fix, but…
Clicking a button or reach the bottom of the page and get na automatic scroll, in the end is the same thing and cause the same issue.
Since it is taking too long, would not it be easier to go back to the old configuration that perfectly met the situation as a new option reloading the page eliminating the source code issues in posts.

Hi ricardodsmantovani –
I’m so sorry I missed your update here so long ago! :(
One of the developers was working on rewriting the syntax highlighter to include several other updates and run more quickly. Unfortunately, this bug isn’t a high priority for our developers currently since very few people use the syntax highlighter.
I know that’s frustrating to hear since you do use the syntax highlighter, and quite often. I will definitely update you when we see movement on this issue again.
