Posting summaries in the main page
-
I can’t seem to find the function to make my front page post only the summaries and not the entire blog! I went into the settings for reading and clicked on the post summaries and pressed save changes but the entire posts still shows. Anyone have any ideas on what I am doing wrong? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The setting here > Settings > Reading is ONLY for thr RSS feed. To split content in the posts themselves so only beginnings of posts appear on your front page you need to insert “the more tag” into each post. Then a “read more” link will appear that visitors can click and when they do the full post will appear on it’s own page. See here please for instructions > http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

Thanks Timethief! The problem is solved… I’ve just started blogging a week ago and realizing again how wonderful people are when you just open up and ask for help. Thanks again.

You’re welcome tockki. I can recommend a comprehensive tutorial. The Learn WordPress.com tutorial is divided into progressive levels and presented as a series: vhttp://learn.wordpress.com/
Best wishes with your blogging. :)
