Posting to a blog you follow

    Hi I follow a blog that my class has that requires me to post to it but whenever I try and write a post it just goes to my account. How do I post to the class site?

    Hi there,

    As you mentioned, you are the Follower on a blog.
    Followers cannot publish posts on the websites they follow. They can only read and comment on posts and pages.

    To be able to add posts on another blog, you need to be invited by the owner of the blog. Currently, your user-role is Follower, so you need to be at least a Contributor to be able to write a post.

    Contributor – has no publishing or uploading capability, but can write and edit their own posts until they are published.

    Please ask the owner of the blog to invite you. They can decide the user role they want to assign to you. After that, you should be able to contribute to the blog.

    You only have your site added to your WordPress.com account right now. So whenever you write a post, it gets published to your account. You need to select the correct site from My Sites once you are added as a user and then post to it.
