Posting to a new page
-
I am trying to publish a new post to a newly added page, but I am unable to figure out how to post it to the page I want. It keeps adding to my Homepage!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Posts and pages are very different actually. :)
What exactly are you trying to do? There are a few ways of achieving what I think you want. :)
-
I have created a page titles “movies to watch” in which I would like to post a little blurb along with a movie poster to this page and this page only. It also does not necessarily need to show up on the sidebar on the left side of my page.
-
Okay. Sounds like I might be able to help you with this a little bit. :)
Okay, since currently you appear to only have two categories, I would highly suggest to keep it that way, though I would personally change the ‘post grad’ to Life, or general but that’s me. :)
Next create a blank/empty page and title it like “blog”.
The next thing you want to do is create a menu. Use the “movie” category and the empty page as menu items. Save the menu and assign it to the “Top Menu” location.
Finally go to Settings > Reading and select “a static page” setting. I, personally, would use your “about” page as the “Front Page” and then select that empty page you created earlier for the “Posts Page”

I am a little slow at this and don’t really understand what you want me to do.
I’m not sure of how to make a menu or what a static page even is.

I would really like for my home page to be the posts that I upload. My about me is not as important to me. I would like to create new pages and have separate posts on those pages. My difficulty is coming in making those pages and posting to those pages only.

Please read this first Post vs. Page http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
(1) There is only one page we can post to in any blog.
(2) The static pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ we bloggers create do not automatically update.Only the dynamic pages like Archives, Categories and Tags created by the software when we publish a post will update automatically update with new posts.
By default the front page of the blog is the Page that displays all posts in your blog. You can create a static front page and have your published posts display on another page http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/ but doing that does not change what follows.
Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.
This guide will walk you through how to create category pages for your blog, to display groupings of similar posts on pages other than your front page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/category-pages/
Create a custom menu

Add dynamic categories and sub-categories pages to it

Create order and sub-menus (dropdowns)

There are many common errors, misunderstandings and misconceptions when creating custom menus and there are some tweaks you can use to improve your custom menu as well.
