Posting to a tab on a wordpress blog
-
When I write a new post it always appears on the First tab. I can not find any way to post to another tab. Now utterly frustrated. What do I do?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

All posts appear on the Posts page, but you can add navigation tabs by using a Custom Menu. https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
If you would prefer not to have any posts on the front page of your site, you can set a Static front page instead. https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

Thank you for the reply. I learnt a little from. However I have now gone from confused to completely bewildered. I have posts disappearing and all sorts.
I do not even know where to start.+

That’s quite a different problem than your original question. What published posts have disappeared from your site? Please link to them here.

Thanks Jennifer.
I was rather flustered so I left it for a while and started afresh.
I am trying to create a blog which has several tabs, and under each tab, I wish to place a number of posts.
I have figured out how to create a new tab and place one post under that tab. I can not place a second post under the new tab. All subsequent posts go to my tab called “Home”.
I have made a post called “Introduction to budgeting”. I would like this post to go under the tab called “How to prepare a budget”. The post goes under the tab “Home” and I have no idea how to move it to another tab.

Hi there, I’m not sure if you are the original poster or someone else, but no matter.
Unless you have set up a Static page as the front page of your website, all new posts will appear on that Home/Posts page (which by default is the front page of your site). In order to have your posts also* appear on a specific tab in your navigation bar, please read my answer above about using a Custom Menu.

Thank you for your reply jennifer.
I have looked up the links you provided. Unfortunately I find the wordpress support documentation confusing. The support documentation seems to presume a level of computer savvy far in excess of my level. I am a complete novice with blogging. I remain none the wiser.

A journey of a thousand miles and all that. :) Take it step by step.
First write new posts and add relevant categories to each. After you have published several Posts with categories, you can then add a special Category tab in the Custom Menu which will automatically generate a page containing the Posts you’ve tagged with that category.

Oh! And a new post on The Daily Post will help too
