Yes, I’m a fresh beginner, and the tutorials seem to apply to creating your own individual blog, which is not the purpose of my joining wordpress. I’m a contributor to an existing blog mentioned above, but not sure how to post to a group blog. Can you point me in a direction besides the tutorial that would help answer my question? Thanks.

None of this will help unless the admin of that blog has Invited you to be a user. They can do that via username or via email.
