Posting to Facebook

How do I post my page/blog to facebook and twitter? I have setup sharing under settings…sharing, but when I published my first page today, it did not appear in my facebook timeline. Help. Thanks.

I think the problem is that you created a page, not a post. Only posts will be sent to Facebook and Twitter via publicize.

If you’d like to share links to your pages, you can still do that–you just have to follow the manual process. Just copy the URL of the page, It will look something like this (http://glennzitosullivan.wordpress.com/the-all-too-ubiquitous-k-word/) paste it into the Facebook status box and say a few words about the page (if you like) That’s it!

Hi Liz. Thanks for responding. Yes it is pages Im creating hence the problem. But I see blogs in my timeline on facebook from other people. I see the blog title, and the first few lines, click on it, and voila it appears. How are they putting in there? Thanks.

If you want to manually put the pages you’ve already created on Facebook, just copying and pasting the URL into the status box as I described above will create the look you want. Facebook recognizes that you’ve entered a link and (usually) automatically formats the link in the way you describe. If you follow the process I outlined above you will see what I mean.
The other way is through the publicize feature. It sounds like you’ve already set that up so when you publish your first post (which is different from a page) it should automatically post to Facebook as well.

With Publicize how do I get my blog post on Facebook to link back to my blog? It’s working on Linked In, but not on Facebook.
