Posting under separate category widgets

  I’m having difficulty associating posts with different category widgets. The category name on the widget does not appear to be the ‘parent’, so am not sure how to separate the sub-categories amongst the widgets. Does this make sense? My category widgets are named: Topics, Core Orders, Medications. When I create a new category, it shows up under all 3 widgets, or I have to create a repeat name under “Topics.” So, then “Core Orders” shows up under “Topics.” But I already have a widget called “Core Orders.” Say I want the sub-category “Asthma” under “Topics.” I can’t seem to achieve that. I hope this makes some sense…and that someone can help..Thanks.

  You make perfect sense, but you can’t do it that way. The category widget displays ALL categories you have created, with limited options to configure how it displays the categories. Adding multiple category widgets will simply duplicate all your categories in each one, no matter what you title the widget. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/categories-widget/
