My blog keeps displaying all my posts I have written, even though I have a widget to show older posts from each month. How can I have my blog not show all my posts on the home page? I am currently using the twenty sixteen theme. Does it have to do with the theme I am using or am I missing something?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you wish to enable infinite scroll see this support doc http://en.support.wordpress.com/infinite-scroll/
Go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading and scroll down to enable infinite scroll on the same page.
To infinity and beyond __ Scroll Infinitely
(Shows 7 posts on each load) -
That doesn’t sound like what I am looking for. I am wanting just a few posts to show up on my homepage (say, just for this month) and the rest of my posts to be archived. Thanks.

The software automatically archives every post when we publish it.
Archives widget https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/archives-widget/
Widgets have visibility settings https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibilityAlternatively, create a Page first https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
and then use the Archives shortcode on it https://en.support.wordpress.com/archives-shortcode/See also Recent Posts widget https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/recent-posts-widget/

Thanks…the settings-reading page shows 5 posts per page, but there are many more than that. Also, there is no “To infinity and beyond” box in my settings.

Also, there is no “To infinity and beyond” box in my settings.
Go to https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/infinite-scroll/?sort=free to locate a free theme that provides infinite scroll.
Use another browser or update yours at https://browsehappy.com
Then go to https://davesdailyscriptures.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php and scroll down to locate infinite scroll.

I went to that site that shows the themes with free infinite scroll, and twenty sixteen is on that list, which is the one that I have.

I had a message when I went to the browser happy that said something about the IP may have changed or something. Do you mean I should update my internet explorer (that’s what I usually use)?

The archive widget seems to be working fine, but the home page still shows everything. I also have a categories widget. It’s a long scrolldown to the bottom.

Thanks! It worked! I updated my IE and cleared the cache and all that and it seems to be working. I wonder, is there a way to keep the sidebar widget in the screen as you scroll down?

Hi davesdailyscriptures,
I’m glad timethief managed to help you display your posts as you wanted them.
is there a way to keep the sidebar widget in the screen as you scroll down?
It’s not possible to ‘fix’ the widget in position so it is stays visible as you scroll. The sidebar area is designed to scroll with the page rather than independently.
Come back to me if you need any more help.
