  I have searched for the difference between posts and pages but didn’t find anything helpful. This must be a common question. Can anyone point me to documentation or a post that explains the diff please?

  If you don’t have a wp.com blog, then you are asking in the wrong forum:
  https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/7-things-to-know-before-posting-in-wordpresscom-forums?replies=1

  It’s both polite and helpful to provide a link to your blog when asking a question, starting with http://
  (don’t obfuscate it with “( )” an no spaces )
