Posts are being published twice

Every time we publish a new post, several hours later, the same post is published again, in a truncated version — and triggering a second notification email to all our subscribers. I also turned off our connection to Facebook, but these posts are getting sent there as well. I have since set it as private, so I have it for reference.
Here’s an example of the truncated post from yesterday:

Please tell me how to make this stop happening!!

It looks like you’re using Hootsuite to maybe auto-publish your Tweets to your blog, and you have Publicize set to automatically post your blog posts to Twitter.
When Publicize sends your new post to Twitter, Hootsuite re-posts it to your blog.
I recommend checking with Hottsuite on this.

I have a similar problem but I am not using Hootsuite. When I post to my blog, I get 2 tweets exactly the same in my sidebar. This only happens with blog posts – if I tweet directly from Twitter, the tweet appears only once.
My blog is gelfandgazette.wordpress.com
Thanks.

That’s quite different. The second Tweet is coming from Facebook, which is sending things you post on Facebook to Twitter. When you publish a post, it’s being Publicized to both Twitter and Facebook, which then sends the new Facebook post to Twitter, hence the double tweet.
