  Is it possible to have guests post on this blog without my having to do the actual formatting and posting?

  Hi there, are you asking about having guests post to http://ucsbrecettes.wordpress.com/ ?

  Depending on what you need, you can invite the guests to have a role such as contributor – this lets them create posts that they write on your site, and therefore can do the formatting for themselves; the posts are submitted to be approved by an editor or administrator:
  https://wordpress.com/support/invite-people/

  Alternatively the ‘author’ role lets them also edit their own posts.
