Posts disappear when browsing my blog

Until today I had a static “welcome” page. Today I decided to make the home page my posts page. I changed this under settings.reading. I also changed the settings.menu.

Everything looks fine when I first come to the site. If I browse to another page, and then back to the new home page (The Ongoing Journey – My Blog) no posts show.

    What am I doing wrong?

I have checked this out in Google Chrome and IE 7.

    Hello there,

Below that post I see 9 other posts. If you do not see them then please try some troubleshooting.

How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.

Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Which browser and version of it are you using? Have your tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clear-your-cache-and-cookies

Is your browser version up to date? You can upgrade any browser version here.

Do you have third party cookies enabled? Do you have another browser you can try?

You can use this link to see if your Flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not up to date then this is where to download and install the latest version of Flash. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

If you would like to link your username to your blog so it can be instantly located it’s easily done. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

When you set page A as your front and page B as your posts page, you make the menu tab for page B link to your posts instead of the actual page B. Now that your front displays your posts, B is no longer your posts page, so its tab links to what B originally was: a blank static page (now useless).

So first you need to go to Pages > All Pages and trash the “Ongoing Journey” page.
Then (assuming you’re using a custom menu), go to Appearance>Menus, click View All in the Pages module, check Home, click Add to Menu; drag the newly added Home to position it above the other pages, click on its arrow, type the title you prefer in the “Navigation Label” field, click Save Menu.

If you’re not using a custom menu, you’ll need to create one.

Thanks to everyone who helped with your prompt responses. I have used your feedback and made the changes so that the page is now working.
What a wonderful community of support! That’s part of the reason I enjoy using WordPress.
