Posts disappearing
-
About an hour and a half ago I uploaded a post – containing an embedded image as well as several links. Each time I tried to publish it, the post disappeared within a few minutes. Once I saw that the post had been automatically moved to the ‘trash’ folder, but when I pressed ‘restore’, it totally disappeared, and the trash folder was empty. I have set up another blog where the same post can be updated very easily, so am unsure where the problem lies. Help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m sorry but we can provide no support to a blog you have not posted and active link starting with http:// for. Please do that now.
-
Ah! Sorry, thought that would be done automatically –

Is this the blog in question? http://gileadamit.wordpress.com/
If so I’m using Friefox 5.0.1 and this is the most recent post on the blog

Is My Colour the Same as Your Color?
by gileadamitIf you cannot see it then you have a browser issue. Please try troubleshooting > http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If that’s not the post in question please confirm that your date and timezone settings are correct on this page > Settings > General
If you have not changed those settings that could be the problem as the default is the UTC timezone. If you change it after you have published then the posts published may not appear in the order you expect. If

Yes, that is the right blog. I can see that post as well. Every time I try and re-upload the next piece I want to publish, it exists for a few minutes and then disappears. First into the trash folder and then completely. I cannot see it from any other computer or mobile device, and uploading it from a different browser/machine does not change the situation.
My timezone settings are UTC+2, which is correct.

Every time I try and re-upload the next piece I want to publish …
What exactly do you mean by “re-upload”?Are you using the WordPress.com editor to create the post in or not? http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/#writing-a-new-post
-
Sorry for the lack of clarity. Yes, I have been using the wordpress editor to ‘add a new post’. Each time I finish that process and press ‘publish’, the post exists for a few minutes and then vanishes – first to the trash, and then completely. So I paste the text from that post into a
- new
post, which then also promptly disappears.
Hope that makes more sense, and many thanks for your time.

Thanks for adding more clarity. Will you please tell us which browser and version of it you have been using? Will you also please try browser troubleshooting so we can eliminate or confirm that as the cause? http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050 If your browser version is out of date you can upgrade it here > http://browsehappy.com

Thanks for getting back to me on this – at the moment I am using Google Chrome 13.0.782.112 beta-m, but as I say I have used Chrome on several computers over the course of the day with identical results.
-
Also, the blog post I uploaded last night (virtually 24 hours ago) was done from the same computer, with the same settings, with no problem (that’s the “Is My Colour the Same as Your Color?” post you saw earlier today).

Things may not have changed at your end but changes are continually being made to our software. Do you have another browser you can try using please?

Also, just as an aside, is there a specific version of chrome I should/should not be using?
-
You are using a BETA version and BETA versions are not stable versions. They are still under development. You can check for the latest stable version here > http://browsehappy.com
