Posts displayed as summaries
-
I can’t get my posts to show as summaries on my first/front page, the entire post is always shown, I just want either the featured image and title to show, or a small overview of that post. I don’t want to add any more pages (I can’t think of anything add) and I have clicked ‘summary’ in the view posts section of settings. Surely it can’t be too difficult?! I have seen another blog with this enabled, and in the description of what is available for this theme it also details that summarised posts are possible on your front page. Help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Setting your RSS Feed to summary has no effects on the posts themselves. It controls only what goes out in the RSS Feed.
If you want to display only excerpts on the front page of the blog followed by read more links, you can insert “the more tag” into each post prior to publication.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/If you don’t want to do that then you can use a theme designed to display only excerpts on the front page automatically. This is a list of active themes on WordPress.com that use the excerpt instead of full post content. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/theme-with-automatic-excerpts?replies=13#post-1396410
