Posts displayed both as featured content and regualr ones
-
My theme is Apotrophe2. This theme allows me to set featured content and I like the design.
But when I set some posts as featured content, they also appear as regular posts. And I don’t choose “Also display tagged posts outside Featured Content Area” in the setting of “Festured Content”
I don’t know why. Thank you if anyone can help me.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
I don’t know what would produce that effect on Apostrophe 2 if the box labeled “Also display tagged posts outside the Featured Content area” is not checked. So I’d check that box again if I were you. If it’s checked and you uncheck it, then that change must be saved by clicking the Save Changes button.
If it’s unchecked and you’re still obtaining the result you’ve described above, then please add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic (at right) to call for staff attention. Staff will respond here.

So I’d check that box again if I were you.
I should have said, “So I’d verify again that the box is unchecked.” I inadvertently used the word “check” with two different meanings in my response.

Interesting, I also see that you have set the tag as “featured” but none of these posts have that tag.
Are you currently working on the site?

staff-blorbo,
Here’s the “featured” tag archives page, displaying the two posts that are in the featured content section: https://mysimaocom.wordpress.com/tag/featured/.

Hi internetculture20114, I think I *might* see the issue. You only have one post that isn’t featured, but the theme is trying to fill in three spaces.
Would you mind testing this theory by publishing a few more unfeatured posts (you can publish privately) so you can see if they fill in that space?
You’ll also want to limit the number of articles shown on the front page until you have enough to fill in without using featured articles again.
-
Thank you, I would have a try. I would publish more posts to see if there is any difference.
For the tag, I think it’s because I set the tag as “featured”, but I check the box “Do not display tag in post details and tag clouds”. So it will not show on the posts.

Hi there,
Can you add the
featuredtag to at least three posts and see if the layout changes? -
I have added add the “featured” tag at four posts and publish more posts. But those featured posts still show in the both area.
Sorry for reply late.

Thanks, I can see that as well.
I have asked our developers to take a look at https://github.com/Automattic/themes/issues/2048
