Posts – formatting options
-
When I go to format my posts (text colour, add media, etc) I do not have the options. The box simply allows me to align text, bold text, italicize text, and link text. When I go to google and look up ‘How to create a post’ Once the video or instructions hits ‘add new’ the screens look very different compared to what I have.
How can I get my posts to provide more options?

Hi –
I suspect the video you’re looking at is not for WordPress.com. Can you send a link of it to us?
-
Thanks, that is actually for an older editor — the video was uploaded three years ago. We can enable that for you if you’d like. Or, if you’ll let us know what option you’re looking for, we can likely help with that.

Right, so then as I understand the editable features present in the video are no longer available/available as default?
I am looking to enable these features in posts so that I can add some depth to my post.

You can do all that with the new Editor and more. Have a look at this page to learn a bit more on how it works:
If you find that something that was previously available and now is not, you can try to add Classic Block, which is very much like the Classic Editor that you can see on the video.
If you are looking for some feature, in particular, let us know and we’ll help you find it :)
