Posts have imported to self-host incorrectly, images now broke after deleting wordpress hosted site

Please can someone help me, I imported the XML file to a clients website and I have done this many times, chose the attachments option and all the posts imported. Once I have deleted the wp.com site the images have broken. Is there anyway a copy of the website can be recovered from a server backup please?

    The domain was nicroldan.wordpress.com

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The problem is that the Export file (XML) does not include any of the images from the Media library. It only contains text and layout of the posts and pages. The imported posts and pages contain links to image files which don’t exist in the Media library on the new site. I know this because I am in the same situation trying to move a WP.com hosted blog to a self-hosted WP site.

What is needed is a way to export (or download) the contents of the Media library from a WP.com site. So far, my search has not come up with any solutions. WP.com does not allow FTP access, so you can’t download the images that way. The only other way I’ve found so far, involves adding a Plugin, which of course, you can’t do on WP.com sites.

If I find a solution, I’ll post it here.

Thanks Jim. But the WordPress.com site has been deleted which means I have no access.

What I need is a member of staff to recover from a server backup. How can I contact the staff directly?

    Thanks
    John

Any help available for this from the staff?

    Thanks.
