    Hi there,

I am working on a group blog and we are having trouble getting our tasks to show up in task number order.

I am not clear about “group blog” and how do you want it to display on home Page?

    Hi there,

I took a look at your site, and it looks like Tasks 4 & 5 and 7 & 8 are switched in order. If your question is in regard to those tasks being out of order, I have a couple of ideas for you.

I played around with your theme for a while, and this is what I discovered:

Your homepage is going to populate based on (1) the Publish Date of each portfolio as well as (2) the size of the featured images you choose for each portfolio.

    1. Publish Date

You’re going to want to make sure that the first task has the earliest Publish Date, and the last task has the latest Publish Date. For example:

    Task 1 – June 1, 2019
    Task 2 – June 2, 2019
    Task 3 – June 3, 2019
    .
    .
    .
    Task 9 – June 9, 2019

To change the Publish Date on a portfolio, go to the editor for that portfolio, click the blue date next to the word “Publish” in the right sidebar, and choose the date you’d like. Click anywhere outside the calendar box, and the Publish Date for the portfolio will change.

    2. Featured Image Size

The order of your tasks will also change if some of your featured images are smaller than others simply because of the way the Blask theme works. Therefore, in addition to changing the Publish dates, you may also want to try to choose the same size featured image for each of your tasks.

If your tasks are published from earliest date to latest date, and all of the featured images are the same size, they should all fall into number order.

With all of that being said, any additional portfolios you create will also be added to your homepage. Therefore, if you only want Tasks 1 – 9 to be on that page, you would not want to create any additional Portfolios in the future because they could change the way your homepage looks.

    Hope this helps!

    @emhaig, et al

Hi, folks. See the explanation by staff member @dcoleonline in the topic Re-ordering portfolio projects as to why on the Blask theme the project order on the portfolio page template depends upon both the publish date and the featured image size of the projects, as @taratabrizi indicates above.

Alternatively you may use portfolio shortcode in a page that doesn’t have the portfolio page template assigned. I would try the default template. By default the shortcode will display projects in ascending order (oldest at the bottom right, most recent at the top left). However, the order may be changed by customizing the shortcode with an “order” or “orderby” attribute as described in the Attributes section of the Portfolio Shortcode support page.
