Posts management

How do I get a post in one menu tab to automatically throw to another menu tab (Archive) after 24 hours?
The site I need help with is [visible only to staff] (email visible only to moderators and staff).

Hi there,
What you describe is not possible. The only way to add a blog post to your site menu is by manually editing the menu, and that’s also the only way to remove a post from the menu.
I see for your Archive page you’re using the archive block. Any post you publish on your site will immediately get included in that block, so you’ll never have to manually add a post there when you remove it from the Today’s Story menu tab.
That said, I have a simpler option:
Instead of adding a post to Today’s Story, publish another page instead, and add it under that menu tab. Then you add the Blog Posts block to that page, setting it to only display your most recent post. That way your current story will always be the one showing on that page.

Instead of the Archive page you currently have, also consider simply making that your posts page – the post page is your site archive, i.e. it displays every single post ever published on your site, with the most recent always appearing at the top. Using that will allow visitors to just scroll through and read as many stories/posts as they want, without having to manually click from month to month, seeing only a limited number of stories each time.
If you’re interested in trying that, go to Appearance ->Customize ->Homepage settings, and just assign your current Archive page as the posts page.
