Posts missing

Hello, I had a WordPress account linked to my Show It website, I paused my subscription for a few months and now I can’t see my former posts. When I tried to log back in using my email address WordPress made me create a new account and now my Show It website isn’t linked. I checked with Show It and they report that everything looks good on their end – they can see my posts and they said that my Word Press account is linked correctly. Please help, I can’t post blogs to my website right now.

Hi,
The account you logged into to submit this request is only 2 weeks old, so it’s unrelated to the old WordPress.com account that you’ve referred to. I’d guess that your attempt to log into the old site failed, and WordPress.com automatically switched to a create new account offer. They weren’t making you create a new account.
So the solution might be as easy as correctly logging into the old account, which will have a different username and email address than the username annhnoland account. But I’ll call for staff attention in case I’ve missed something.

Hi there!
Not much we can do without knowing the exact address of the site in question.
Note, however, that our upgrades are annual and you wouldn’t be able to pause them for a few months. The only instance where your site might have been affected like this on WordPress.com is if you had plan Business that expired. That will cause all the plugins and other features of that plan to disappear.

Yes, two weeks ago I tried to log in as usual (and I had just been logged in a few days prior to that) when I got a response from WordPress that I didn’t have an account. Which makes no sense because I had just been using that account that was created with the email address that I tried using to log back in. I can’t seem to get into my old (correct) account because whenever I try to log in it just takes me to the new one that WordPress created for me when I was trying to log in.

@musicdoc1 pointed out that you are posting from a new WordPress.com account you created recently. No doubt you need to be logged in to a different account. staff-mckluskey asked you to reveal the exact address of the site you are searching for.

If you’re logged into one WordPress.com account on a browser and try to log into another, then you’ll remain in the first account. You may either log into the other account on a different browser, or log out of the first account on the original browser AND clear the cache and cookies before trying to log into a second WordPress.com account.

That would happen if you incorrectly entered the email address or username at login. Just missing or mistyping one letter or digit would be enough. -

now my Show It website isn’t linked
What makes you think that? Creating a new account doesn’t affect the old account. Have you tried to log into the old account since the failed attempt to do so a few weeks ago? -
Yes, I have tried to log into the old account but WordPress is telling me that the account doesn’t exist. And I know I am using the correct userID/email/password.

Hi there,
https://annahnoland.com/blog/ is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at Google Domains. That site has no connection at all to WordPress.com, so when it said earlier that you didn’t have a WordPress.com account, that was correct.
The
annahnolandaccount you’re using to post here is a brand new WordPress.com username account, and has nothing to do with your stand-alone WordPress site at another hosting provider.Support for the version of WordPress you’re using is provided by the WordPress.org community at https://wordpress.org/support/forums, but I don’t think they’ll be able to help you either:
I paused my subscription for a few months and now I can’t see my former posts.
If you paused your hosting account with Google, that would have taken your site with them offline, and it’s possible they deleted your data from their servers as a result. So you’ll need to contact them directly to find out if they still have a backup of your site that can be restored on their end.
